Armytrix vs Milltek

A valvetronic specialist and a long-established British maker. Here is what each publishes about valves, materials, approvals and warranty.

About this guide

We are JF Automotive, a certified Armytrix reseller and installer, so we say that up front. This guide sets out what each brand publishes about itself, with links, so you can decide for yourself. It is not a test or a sound comparison.

Valve control and sound options

Armytrix builds its range around valved systems: a wireless remote with open, off and auto modes on most kits, the car's own valve control on some, and an optional phone app.

Milltek lists resonated, non-resonated and race cat-back versions for many cars, with and without valves. On some cars its valves are worked by a remote key fob.

Materials and where they are made

Armytrix publishes T304 stainless steel and titanium systems.

Milltek was founded in 1983 and makes its systems in T304L stainless steel at its sites in Derby and Ilkeston, with a development and testing centre at the Nürburgring.

Approval and warranty

Milltek says it makes EC-approved performance exhausts, tested and approved by TÜV in Germany. Armytrix does not publish EC, ECE or TÜV approval.

Milltek gives a lifetime guarantee on most parts, and 2 years or 80,000 km on hi-flow cats, downpipes and parts with valves. Armytrix covers its systems for 12 months from installation when a certified installer fits them.

Which suits you

If you want to switch between quiet and loud with a remote or app, often with titanium as an option, Armytrix is built around that. If you want a choice of resonated or non-resonated sound, EC approval or a UK-made system, Milltek publishes all three. Check the system listed for your exact car.
